What is the latest time to drop off FedEx overnight? ›

You will need to check with the local FedEx stations or stores in your area to determine the exact time. But a general rule is that you probably want to have your package dropped off by 5 pm in most cases.

Packages should not be left outside the drop box. Bring packages too large for the drop box to the counter at a FedEx location near you. Choose from thousands of FedEx Office, FedEx Ship Center, FedEx Authorized ShipCenter, Walgreens, Dollar General, and grocery locations nationwide.

Create a shipping label online or fill out an airbill using your FedEx account number. Print the label and affix it to your package, then bring your package to a FedEx Drop Box near you. No cash, check or credit card payments are accepted at the drop box location.

If you missed your delivery, we'll leave a door tag for you. It has a number that's associated with your package's original tracking number and the steps you can take to locate your package.

FedEx delivery times and store hours

Typical FedEx delivery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday–Friday and on Saturday and Sunday for residential deliveries except for FedEx expedited shipments. FedEx expedited delivery times vary by service.

The cutoff time for overnight shipping with most couriers is usually between 6 PM and 7 PM. You can use USPS over the weekends, but you'll have to pay an additional charge on Sunday deliveries. For both UPS and FedEx, only Saturday pickups and deliveries are available for an additional charge.

Use the prepaid label provided by your merchant and drop off the package at any of our 56,000+ locations. Or use the USPS. Drop it off at one of their locations, or leave it on your porch or in your mailbox to be picked up.

It will be taken to the post office and they will call Fedex to pick it up. When the opposite happens, USPS mail in a Fedex drop box, typically the mail carrier picks it up the next day when the mail is delivered.

FedEx Ground shipments are now accepted via the FedEx Express drop-box network.

Can I put a return in a FedEx Dropbox? ›

Once you have your label, pack your return item and drop it off at a nearby FedEx location, FedEx Drop Box, or participating retailer. If you use a QR code from the FedEx Mobile app, find a location that will accept it. Then pack your return shipment and take it there.

If your online shopping return has a FedEx label, you can drop off your sealed and prelabeled package to a Walgreens location of your choice and ask a store associate for assistance. Don't have a label? You can request a FedEx return label from participating online stores.

FedEx Ground reaches all 50 US States in 1 to 5 business days. FedEx delivers Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. FedEx international shipments can take anywhere from 1 to 8 business days, though dates may vary depending on the destination country.

If a shipment requires, either an indirect, direct or adult signature, and a delivery attempt is made, but no one is there to sign for the package, the driver will leave a door tag at the recipient's door. If no signature is required, the shipment will be left at the recipient's door.

As of June 28, 2022, your driver will scan your driver's license or government-issued ID to verify your age.

FedEx Standard Overnight^®: Next-business-day delivery by 5:00 p.m. to U.S. businesses and by 8 p.m. to residences. Use the rate finder to get exact transit times to your delivery area. These services deliver Monday–Friday. Saturday delivery is available in certain areas for an additional charge.

USPS Overnight trucks leave the Post Office at 6 PM, following the Post Office's end of business hours. USPS accepts packages up until they close. To be safe, you have your package at the Post Office no later than 5:30-5:45. The postal clerk will accept your shipment and put it in the outgoing mail box.

FedEx First Overnight^®: Delivery the next business day by 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., or 9 a.m. to most areas. FedEx Priority Overnight^®: Delivery the next business day by 10:30 a.m. to most businesses in the contiguous U.S. and by noon to residences and 5 p.m. to some rural areas.
